Australia’s most exotic and expensive sports cars will be
competing at Sydney’s Eastern Creek Raceway on May 29-30 and the
big bonus is that spectators will be admitted free of charge.
Headlining the Eastern Creek Sports Car Carnival is Round 3
of the Vodka O Australian GT Championship with a grid of super
exotic cars literally worth millions of dollars.
The twenty seven car field of dreams includes four Porsche
GT3 997 Cup S cars, three Lamborghini Gallardo models, an Audi
R8 LMS, three Dodge Viper GT3’s, Maserati, Mosler, Lotus, two
Corvette ZO6’s and a Nissan GTR R35
“Normally you only see vehicles of this caliber in motor
magazines or at the world’s best and biggest motor shows. At
Eastern Creek fans will not only see the cars close-up, they
will get to see them racing and revving at the absolute limit,
in two one hour races on the Saturday and Sunday”, GT
spokesperson Mike Drewer said today.
Currently leading the 2010 GT Championship after rounds at
the Clipsal 500 V8 Supercar event in Adelaide and the Australian
Grand Prix in Melbourne is Sydney based ‘young gun’ David Wall
in his Porsche Cup S. Close behind in the points chase is Greg
Crick (Dodge Viper) and Dean Grant (Lamborghini Gallardo).
Eastern Creek’s Sports Car Carnival is a race meeting
dedicated exclusively to Sports Cars. The GT Championship
headlines the two day event with non stop support racing from
categories including Production Sports cars, Historic Sports
cars, Mazda MX5’s, PRB Clubmen, Sports/Racing cars and Alfa
Romeos.
