Festival
The 2009 Barry Sheene Festival of Speed has attracted a
top field of former international motorcycle racing
greats and hundreds of entries for Easter weekend at
Eastern Creek International Raceway on April 11-12.

Soundwave Success at Eastern Creek
Approximately 30,000 fans turned out for the Soundwave
Festival at Eastern Creek International Raceway on 22
February. "The event went incredibly well, based on the
feedback from festival-goers and the promoter," said
chief executive Geoff Arnold.

Music Festival to Swell Eastern Creek
Eastern Creek International Raceway (ECIR) has
recommenced business as a major outdoor music festival
venue. The first event will be the 2009 Soundwave
Festival on February 22. A crowd of almost 30,000 is
expected at the festival, which is being headlined by
American acts Nine Inch Nails, Alice In Chains and The
Bloodhound Gang. Support acts include bands such as
Flaming Lips and Tool.

Eastern Creek test for Kawasaki 2009 Ninja ZX-RR
Kawasaki have debuted the new Ninja ZX-RR in a private
test with Olivier Jacque at the Australian circuit of
Eastern Creek. Former MotoGP competitor Jacque and the
experienced Serizawa are working with European and
Japanese staff to evaluate the progress that has been
made with the Ninja ZX-RR over recent months.

Eastern Creek Racer Days - a fast track to the podium
2009 will see the launch of Eastern Creek Racer Days.
The new event is a joint venture between Eastern Creek
Ride Days and Californian Superbike School. The Eastern
Creek Racer Days program will feature three elements,
including the globally renowned Superbike School program
American Keith Code began in 1980.

Formula 5000 V8s to race at Eastern Creek
November 28, 29 and 30 will see Eastern Creek Raceway
play host to a race meeting over forty years in the
making – The Repco Tasman Revival.
The Repco Tasman Revival is a nostalgic look back to
Trans-Tasman racing of the 1960s and ’70s.

could be in line to host Australia's first permanent
motor racing 'supercircuit' equal to the world's best,
according to plans released today. A $350,000
feasibility study commissioned by the Australian Racing

world-class development.

to the largest single gathering of vehicle fleet
managers in Australia.
Hosted by the NRMA and Australian Business Auto
magazine, over 100 attendees were given the opportunity

The Australian Racing Drivers Club (ARDC) has
announced the $350,000 study to expand Sydney's Eastern
Creek International Raceway will be tabled by August
this year.
The study will contain recommendations which include
building a number of circuits within the facility,
allowing more than one circuit event to be conducted at
the same time.

Bartlett Back on Track as Patron of Tasman Revival
Kevin Bartlett, dual Australian Motor Racing Champion
and Bathurst 1000 winner will be the patron of this
year’s Tasman Revival historic race car meeting set down
for the last weekend in November at Sydney’s Eastern
Creek Raceway. The Tasman Revival showcases cars from
the 1960s Tasman Championship era.

Solar Safety Lights a World First at Eastern Creek
Sydney's Eastern Creek Raceway has invented and
installed a system of solar-powered corner warning
lights, believed to be a world-first in motor racing
safety. The all-Aussie innovation can replicate the
basic task of flag marshals at key track positions and
is regarded as a breakthrough for track days.

Commissions Expansion Survey
A $350,000 feasibility study by one of the world's
leading motor racing circuit engineering companies will
examine further enhancing Sydney's Eastern Creek
International Raceway complex, potentially to Formula
One capability. The study will be completed in the
second half of 2008 and has been commissioned by the
Australian Racing Drivers Club.
